2008: GALAPAGOS HIGHLIGHTS WITH TROPICAL FOREST EXTENSION (ISDA)
12 days

Start your vacation in Ecuador's Tropical Forest. Travel to the Pacific rainforest for three nights at the all-inclusive Arasha Rainforest Resort and Spa. Enjoy guided tours of the primary and secondary forests, birding and orchid tours, a chocolate-making demonstration, fishing, native jewelrymaking classes, and much more. Visit with one of the most colorful indigenous groups in Ecuador, the "Colorados," and learn of their ancient traditions and religion. Combine Quito with guided city sightseeing and five days in the Galapagos Islands. Take a naturalistguided cruise daily to explore various outlying islands. Visits include Santa Fe to see the endemic land iguana and for the chance to snorkel with sea turtles. South Plazas and Punta Carrion Islands feature unique hybrid iguanas, the result of a cross between male marine iguanas and female land iguanas. See tropical birds, sea lions, and fur seals on North Seymour Island and Las Bachas Beach. Also enjoy a visit to CHARLES DARWIN RESEARCH STATION.
